"These factors have been shown to strongly correlated with adverse outcomes in women than in men," added assistant researcher of cardiovascular medicine at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. this.
Dreyer said, poorer health outcomes in women may be caused by a variety of matters relating to socio-demographic, clinical and biological, such as chest pain that is not detected, maintenance access problems and increased responsibilities of life that affect their health.
"Our results may be important in developing treatments specifically designed to enhance the recovery of a young woman after a heart attack," said Dreyer.
"We need to identify women who are at higher risk as well as think about their care," he added.
